DESCRIPTION
GatorSktch Architects was selected by the City of Clermont to design an addition and renovate a former train depot as the hub of the new downtown historic village park. GatorSktch was tasked to renovate the interior and exterior of the building, which was an active train depot in the early 20th century, to better reflect its period and heritage. The building had undergone numerous renovations for different uses throughout the years; however it shall now become the hub of the historic village, as well as the operational offices for the historic society. A portion of the depot will provide a meeting and conference room for various civic groups. In addition, the program called for a new 1,200 SF attached pavilion & restroom facility to serve community functions, hosting civic groups, and various other City events. The project is currently under construction and expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2010.
