LAKE COUNTY WATER LAB ADDITION
Astatula, Florida
COMMERCIAL INSTITUTIONAL MEDICAL MUNICIPAL RESIDENTIAL

DESCRIPTION
The Lake County Board of County Commissioners engaged GatorSktch Architects, through a continuing services contract, to design a 767 square foot laboratory addition to the existing Lake County Water Lab adjacent to the county landfill. Existing air conditioning systems were undersized and Water Lab personnel requested that the situation be addressed during the design of the new addition. Upon examination of the building, it was determined that the building was experiencing negative air pressure due to several exhaust fume hoods which were operational in the laboratory. HVAC modifications were implemented by the design team which now bring the building into a positive pressurization and allow a more pleasant and functional environment for the laboratory staff. Additional modifications were made to the existing building including the enclosure of an existing carport for additional laboratory storage. The new 767 SF laboratory addition now provides lab personnel the much needed additional space for sample & chemical testing. Completed in August 2009.
